Kenwood KAC-8104D 1000 Watt Class D Mono Power Amplifier


The KAC-8104D Class D Mono Power Amplifier has a small foot print and a mighty powerful kick. Ready to pump out 1000 Watts Max Power, the KAC-8104D includes a built-in infrasonic filter that helps subwoofers perform their best by sharply cutting off inaudible frequencies below 15 or 25 Hz.

Built-in infrasonic filter
Infrasonic filter is a high-pass filter used with phonograph turntables to reduce the effects of low frequency noise and vibration, called rumble, caused by imperfections in turntable performance and warped records. Since typical rumble frequencies occur in the 3-10 Hz area, most infrasonic filters have a corner frequency of around 15 Hz, with a steep slope, or roll off rate, of 18 dB/octave, and a Butterworth response.


Atrend - 10" Dual Sealed Subwoofer Enclosures


A loudspeaker enclosure is a cabinet designed to transmit sound to the listener via mounted loudspeaker drive units. The major role of the enclosure is to prevent the out-of-phase sound waves from the rear of the speaker from combining with the in-phase sound waves from the front of the speaker. Such mixing results in interference patterns and cancellation, causing the efficiency of the speaker to be reduced, particularly in the low frequencies where the wavelengths are large enough that interference will affect the entire listening area. Screw-down biding posts
A binding post is a connector commonly used on electronic test equipment to terminate (attach) a single wire or test lead. They are also found on loudspeakers and audio amplifiers as well as other electrical equipment. A binding post contains a central threaded metal rod and a cap that screws down on that rod. The cap is commonly insulated with plastic and color-coded: red commonly means an active or positive terminal; black indicates an inactive (reference or return) or negative terminal; and green indicates an earth (ground) terminal.

In the most normal usage, cables have a standard plug on each end, consisting of a central male connector, surrounded by a ring. The ring is often segmented for flexibility. Devices mount the jack, consisting of a central hole with a ring of metal around it. Woofer
The cone is constructed of a stainless steel coated injection-molded polypropylene. The stainless steel coating adds to the polypropylene's strength and heat resistance characteristics resulting in reduced distortion and improved reliability.

Super Linear Spider
The woofer features a Super Linear Spider design. In this design, the Spider roll gradually becomes higher towards the center enabling this area to withstand more stress with less stretching. This design transfers up and down movement outward to reduce stretching the center area of the woofer. Because the spider's outward portion has more surface area to better dissipate stress from the center, this helps to reduce mechanical damage during increased excursion and enables the subwoofer to withstand more power.
